Tenders are invited for Coach for Income Generation Activity at Household Level - Food Processing (x2). Mada Association is seeking 2 Coaches for Income Generation Activities at Household Level in the field of Agriculture, under the SAFE Project Sustainable Agri-Food Economy for Refugee and Local Communities in Lebanon, funded by the Danish MoFA under the European Regional Development and Protection Program (RDPP III) implemented in partnership with WeWorld and LWRO. A key component of the activity is to improve the capacities of 100 vulnerable households in North and Akkar Governorates, enabling activation of Income Generating Activities (IGAs) across various sectors, including livestock management, agriculture, food processing and dairy production. This activity targets vulnerable households with support to IGA aiming at overcoming immediate shocks during the quest for more sustainable solutions including long-term employment. A holistic package of support will be provided, including in-kind grants and tailored coaching, to help these households develop viable IGAs, increase income that can foster self-reliance and resilience. Through close collaboration with each households focal point, the Coach will design and deliver personalized one-on-one coaching sessions that respond to the specific needs, challenges, and market context of each beneficiary while building on their existing capacities and experience. Each household will receive three (3) coaching sessions. Job Summary The Food Processing Coach will play a central role in supporting beneficiaries engaged in food production and processing IGAs by providing both technical and business development coaching. The objective is to equip beneficiaries with the knowledge and skills needed to improve product quality, efficiency, and profitability while ensuring adherence to food safety standards and market alignment. The Coach will work closely with household focal points to develop sector-specific business plans, strengthen their skills in financial management, marketing, pricing and provide practical, hands-on guidance on production practices and product quality. Sessions will be tailored to each households situation to ensure that their activities are viable, profitable, and aligned with market opportunities. The program will include 90 one-on-one sessions for the 30 selected households, each lasting approximately 2 to 3 hours, conducted at the households locations across Akkar, Tripoli, and Miniyeh-Danniyeh. Two Food Processing Coaches are required for this position. Each coach is responsible for implementing 3 sessions per household located at: Akkar (Mohamara, Bebnine, Ain Dahab, Berqayel, Borj Arab, El Hissa, Fneideq, Jeidet Qaytaa, and Tal Hayat) and Minnieh-Dannieh (Sfire, Btermaz and Bahnine) and Tripoli. The number of sessions will be divided equally between the two coaches. Mada reserves the right to adjust the number of sessions and assigned households as needed. Tasks and responsibilities The Food Processing Coach will: Conduct a comprehensive review of the household validation assessment data, including analysis of available equipment, access to resources, and household production and technical capacities. Based on the findings, develop a tailored coaching program plan that addresses identified needs, builds on existing capacities, and aligns with project objectives. Coach beneficiaries on the following topics included but not limited to: Best practices for food preservation to enhance shelf life, minimize waste, and maintain product quality. Efficient processing methods, recipe formulation, and ingredient selection to improve quality and production efficiency. Food handling, sanitation, and storage techniques to maintain product safety and extend shelf life. Support households in exploring value addition and product diversification opportunities to enhance profitability and competitiveness. Branding, packaging, labeling, and marketing strategies that align with market trends and consumer preferences. Costing and pricing strategies to ensure products are profitable and market-aligned. Building market linkages with local buyers, cooperatives, and suppliers to strengthen the sustainability of food processing IGAs. Topics may be adapted as needed, depending on the households business and the type of IGA. Conduct 3 one-on-one coaching sessions per each household, covering both technical and business aspects. Support both the household and the project team in identifying the appropriate tools and equipment required to enhance household capacities. Provide detailed technical specifications for each item to be procured through the in-kind grant allocated by the project, ensuring alignment with household needs, project objectives, and procurement standards. Monitor the progress of beneficiaries, providing actionable feedback and identifying opportunities for scaling or diversification. Deliverables IGA proposed coaching program A summary of each households IGA, outlining resources, technical and business gaps, and proposed coaching sessions. Individual Spending Plans Tailored plans per household integrating both items quantities and detailed technical specifications. Attendance Sheets Documented participation for all coaching sessions. Final Recommendations Report overview of sessions, progress, summary of successful practices and suggestions for scaling up IGAs and future support needs. Qualifications Specialization or degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Agribusiness, or a related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in food processing, production, and/or business development coaching, preferably in rural or vulnerable contexts. Proven expertise in supporting small-scale food processors, particularly in areas such as product development, hygiene, and marketing. Strong understanding of local market dynamics in Akkar, Tripoli, and Miniyeh-Danniyeh. Ability to provide practical, actionable, and results-oriented coaching tailored to small producers. Excellent interpersonal communication, and training skills with the ability to work effectively with vulnerable populations. Experience working with NGOs or development programs is an asset. Strong reporting and analytical skills; ability to prepare professional reports in English. Time Frame and Duration The selected Coach is expected to deliver the required sessions starting from 8 April 2026 (estimated) and for a period of 10 consecutive weeks. Sessions will be conducted during regular working days (five days per week), with two sessions often scheduled on the same day. How to apply Applications are welcomed by only single coaches.
