Pest-Control Services – Fighting Mosquitoes In The Region Of Western Macedonia, For The Years 2026-2027-2028. The Project Will Be Developed In The Four Regional Units (Kozani, Grevena, Kastoria And Florina) Of The Region Of Western Macedonia. The Area Of Application Of The Project Is The Urban, Peri-Urban/Rural, And Natural System Of All 13 Municipalities Of The Region, With An Emphasis On Lakeside & Riverside Wetland Systems As Well As The Urban System Of Cities And Settlements At High Risk Of Mosquito-Borne Diseases. . Beneficiaries Of The Project Are The Entire Population Of The Region Of Western Macedonia And Its Visitors, And Especially The Residents Of Areas That Face A Severe Problem Of Mosquito Nuisance And An Increased Risk Of Disease Transmission, With A Simultaneous Improvement In The Quality Of Life Of The Residents Of The Area (Residents And Visitors), Positive Consequences Are Expected Both In The Development Of The Region And In The Safeguarding Of Public Health, Because Diseases Such As Malaria, The Western Virus Nile Virus, Dengue Fever, Zika Virus Etc. Natural Streams, Centers Of The Agricultural System (Drainage-Irrigation Canals), Waste Disposal Sites, Waste Water Deposits, Areas Of Livestock Land That Are Flooded To Improve The Stock, Waste From Stables, Biological Treatment Facilities, Flooded Barren Lands, Cisterns, Reservoirs. • Urban System-Common Spaces: Drainage System (Open Drainage Ditches, Rainwater Grates), Various Micro-Fireplaces (Pits, Tanks, Watering Cans, Etc.), Fires Located In Squares, Parks, Stadiums, Large Courtyards Of Public Facilities, Etc.
