The Subject Of The Project Is The Western Ramp In Vorarlberg, Which Is One Of The Main Öbb Connections And Connects Vorarlberg With The Rest Of Austria. This Project Deals With The Area Between Km 117.200 - 117.6100, Which Is At High Risk Of Falling Rocks And Avalanches And Therefore Needs To Be Protected. In The Area From Railway Kilometer 117.50 To 177.61 (The Annatobel Development Area), No Protective Structures Have Been Built Apart From A Rockfall Dam. Since An Avalanche Hit The Track In This Area On January 13Th, 2019 Buried, There Is An Urgent Need For Action. The Wörezer Development Area (Railway Kilometer 117.20 - 117.50) Is Already Partially Secured By Arlberg Rakes, Snow Bridges And An Avalanche Control Structure And Containment Structure. However, These Are Partly Damaged, Outdated Or Too Maintenance-Intensive. The Current Project Serves To Protect The Area Between Km 117.20 - 117.61 Against Rockfalls And Protect Against Avalanche Danger.
