The City Of Löhne Intends To Convert The Reception Building At Löhne Train Station Into A Third Location. The Reception Building At Löhne Train Station, Which Is Partly Protected As A Monument, Was Built In 1913. It Is A Large Building Made Up Of Several Components With A Central Reception Hall, Which Is Adjoined By A Two-Story East Wing And A Two-Story West Wing, Which Housed Former Service Rooms, Waiting Rooms For Various Classes, Rooms For Post, Customs And Police As Well As The Heads Living Quarters. The Areas Of The Former Waiting Rooms And The West Wing Have A Basement. The Building Was Constructed Of Dark Red Brick; The Individual Components Have Hipped And Gable Roofs. The Facades Are Subtly Structured By Pilaster Strips And Cornices. The Gable Side With The Main Entrance Is Particularly Highlighted Through The Use Of Decorative Stream Stone Associations And A Lively Designed Gable Cornice. As Part Of This Construction Project, The Station Building Will Be Fundamentally Renovated, Converted And Expanded. In The Future, The Station Building Will Be Used By The Löhne City Library As An Open Library And Will Be A Community Place That Every Visitor Can Use According To Their Needs. As A Third Location, It Offers Areas And Rooms With A Wide Variety Of Requirements And Qualities. This Creates Areas For Encounters And Exchanges (Entrance Hall), Individual Lockable Workstations, Semi-Public Workstations In The Library Areas And Group Work Rooms (Formerly Waiting Rooms And West Wing). In The Actual Library Area There Will Be A Freely Designed Multi-Purpose Area That Can Be Used For Library Users To Linger Or For Readings And Events. A New, Central Staircase Leads To The Various Areas Use Areas On The Various Floors. In The East Wing, New Sanitary Facilities, A Bicycle Workshop And A Closed Area Will Be Set Up, Which Can Also Be Used As A Meeting Room For Public Clubs If Necessary. The Future Accommodation Of The Third Location Also Means That The Station Building Will Continue To Function In The Spirit Of The Station And That Access To The Tracks Will Be Possible At Any Time (24 Hours) During The Day Of The Third Place Comes Into Contact.
