With This Renovation, Por Aims To Extend The Lifespan Of The Inland Shipping Quay (North Side) By At Least 25 Years And To Reduce The Costs For Maintenance And Damage Repair, With The Implementation Causing As Little Disruption As Possible To The Customers Operations. After Considering Various Variants, Por Has Chosen Renovation With A Prefab Retaining Wall (Fibre-Reinforced And High-Strength Concrete) As The Preferred Variant. The Feasibility Of This Variant Has Been Investigated By Por In A Feasibility Study. The Anticipated Scope Of The Realization Of The Project Consists Of (Not Exhaustive): - Installing A Prefab Retaining Wall Over A Length Of 600 M Of The Eastern Part Of The Inland Shipping Quay - Repairing Holes In The Quay Wall And Filling The Hollow Space Behind The Quay Wall - Restoring The Drainage Of The Quay Wall - Installing A Concrete Cover Apron And Associated Quay Furniture - Removing A Retaining Wall And Replacing A Raised Retaining Wall - Optional: A Comparable Scope Of The Eastern Part Of The Inland Shipping Quay Is Also Possible For The Western Part Of The Inland Shipping Quay, Plus The Installation Of Anchors Over A Length Of 300 M. For The Realization Of The Project, The Following Activities Are Expected In The Construction Team Phase: - Optimize The Design Of High-Strength Concrete Front Apron I.R.T. Feasibility With Limited Space Between The Existing Structure - Mitigate Identified Risks - Consider Implementation Method (Possible Drying Box Or Use Of Construction Pit) - Work Out Phasing In Connection With Operations At The Terminal In Addition, Por Expects That During The Construction Team Phase New Aspects May Come To Light That Require Further Investigation, Which May Also Influence The Scope To Ultimately Achieve The Project Result. As An Outcome Of The Construction Team Phase, The Design Will Be Further Elaborated In A Raw Specification, After Which The Contractor May Submit A Price For This Realization. It Is Noted That The Final Design May Be Different From The Preliminary Design As A Result Of Insights Gained In The Construction Team. In Extreme Cases, A New Quay Wall Must Be Designed And Constructed If It Appears That Renovation Of The Quay Is Not Possible For Whatever Reason.
