Technical Testing, Analysis And Consultancy Services – Investigation Of Bat Collisions With Offshore Wind Turbines. In Recent Years, There Has Been An Increasing Focus On The Impact Of Offshore Wind Turbines On Bats, As A Number Of Bat Species Both Migrate And Forage Over The Sea. It Cannot Therefore Be Ruled Out That Offshore Wind Turbines, And Probably Especially The More Coastal Turbines, Pose A Risk To Bat Populations. The Lack Of Knowledge About Bats Can Make New Projects More Expensive And Difficult. The Main Purpose Of This Task Is To Carry Out A Concrete Study Of How Many Bats Collide With Offshore Wind Turbines In Two Existing Danish Offshore Wind Farms. Knowledge Must Also Be Gathered About The Relationship Between Bat Activity In Offshore Wind Farms And The Actual Number Of Collisions. Based On This Knowledge, A Tool Must Be Developed For Calculating The Expected Number Of Bat Collisions In A Given Offshore Wind Farm. The Task Runs In The Period 2026-2028 And Will Be Concluded With A Final Report At The End Of 2028. Investigation Equipment Will Have To Be Procured For The Task In 2026, And The Investigations Must Be Initiated In 2026, If Possible And Appropriate. Two Specific Danish Offshore Wind Farms Have Been Selected For The Project. The Danish Energy Agency Expects To Conclude Cooperation Agreements With The Respective Wind Turbine Operators On The Implementation Of The Project As Soon As Possible. The Task Is Carried Out With The Involvement Of A Broad Follow-Up Group, Which Must Be Continuously Informed About The Progress Of The Work.
