Architectural Services For Outdoor Areas – Climate-Adapted District Of The Former Edewecht Stadium - Property Planning For Outdoor Areas. The Focus Of The Large-Scale Project Is The Transformation Of Gray Infrastructure Into Green-Blue. For This Purpose, A Multifunctional Green Area Is To Be Created That Combines High Recreational Value With Climate-Resilient Planting And At The Same Time Reorganizes The Districts Drainage Infrastructure According To The Principles Of The Sponge City. The Areas Public Facilities Are Being Conceptually Integrated By Strengthening Environmentally Friendly Mobility Offerings, Unsealing Parking Areas And Providing Rooms For The Districts Renewable Heat Supply. The Project Covers An Area Of ​​Around 3.2 Hectares And Is Divided Into Seven Sub-Elements: A) Dismantling Of A Partially Sealed Stadium Area And New Landscape Planning Of A Green Area Of ​​Approx. 16,565 M² With Ecologically High-Quality, Climate-Resilient Planting To Increase The Quality And Quantity Of Green And Open Spaces. B) Natural Retention Of Rainwater By Creating A Temporary Flood Area And Connection To The Districts Existing Rainwater Sewer System In Order To Counteract Heavy Rain Events And At The Same Time Improve The Microclimate. C) Creation Of A Local Recreation Area With Attractive Features And High Recreational Value For All Generations, Taking Into Account The Neighboring Public Facilities, Especially The Swimming Pool. D) Creation Of An Educational Trail With Display Boards And, If Necessary, Exhibits On The Topic Of Forests In Climate Change And The Effects Of Climate Change On Still Water Ecosystems To Bring The Topic Of Climate Protection And Climate Adaptation To Life.
