Expression of Interest for Consultancy Services for Insurance. The Mauritius Cane Industry Authority (MCIA) is a parastatal body falling under the aegis of the Ministry of Agro-Industry and Food Security created under the Mauritius Cane Industry Authority Act (No 40 of 2011). Since 19 March 2012, it took over the responsibilities and functions of the following six ex-Service Providing Institutions (SPIs) namely: (i) Cane Planters and Millers Arbitration and Control Board (ii) Farmers Service Corporation (iii) Mauritius Sugar Authority (iv) Mauritius Sugar Industry Research Institute (v) Mauritius Sugar Terminal Corporation, and (vi) Sugar Planters Mechanical Pool Corporation In August 2014, the operations of the Bagged Sugar Storage and Distribution Company Ltd (BSSD Co Ltd) were transferred to MCIA and now the company is wholly owned by MCIA. All the assets and liabilities of the Company have been transferred to MCIA. Each department had maintained its own specificities in term of its operational requirements, risk profiles and insurance coverage structures. The purpose of this Expressions of Interest is to request for proposals from potential Consultants of Mauritian nationals or entities incorporated in Mauritius to assess MCIAs current insurance arrangements, identify risks and coverage gaps, recommend appropriate insurance solutions, support procurement and provide cost-effective and comprehensive insurance policies for its Corporate office and seven SPIs and to design a comprehensive insurance program for the MCIA. Consultant shall for the purpose of this procurement mean consulting firm/individual consultant/Joint Venture. . Any consultant applying for shortlisting as consortium, association or any form of arrangement shall clearly indicate its status as a single entity or Joint Venture and its sub-consultancy as required in the submission.
