Expression of Interest for Consultancy Services to Train Female Carpenters (Six-Month Program) Scope of Work (Training Components 6 Months) The consultant will be required to deliver a structured six-month training that includes: A. Technical Carpentry Skills Republic of Liberia 2 1. Introduction to Carpentry Tools & Equipment o Identification, use, and maintenance of hand tools and power tools 2. Woodwork Fundamentals o Measuring, marking, cutting, shaping, joining, and finishing 3. Furniture Making o Chairs, tables, cabinets, shelves, doors, beds 4. Construction Carpentry o Roofing, framing, formwork, partitions, windows and doors installation 5. Modern Carpentry Techniques o Use of plywood, MDF, laminated boards, modern joints, and finishing techniques 6. Site Work & Practical Field Exercises o On-site practice assignments and supervised project work B. Safety, Standards & Quality Control 1. Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) 2. Proper tool handling and workshop safety 3. Quality assurance in carpentry production 4. Materials management and safe storage practices C. Business, Marketing & Entrepreneurship 1. Introduction to carpentry business operations 2. Bookkeeping and basic financial management 3. Customer relations and client communication 4. Pricing, costing, and estimating materials 5. Branding, marketing, and digital promotion techniques D. Soft Skills & Professional Development 1. Teamwork and leadership skills 2. Time management 3. Problem-solving and innovation in woodwork 4. Workplace ethics and professional conduct Qualification Requirements Interested consultants must provide: Profile of the consulting Institution or firm Evidence of at least 35 years of experience in carpentry training or technical vocational instruction List of at least 2 previous similar assignments CVs of key trainers (Instructors in Carpentry Work, Occupational Health and Safety, Entrepreneurship and Marketing Expertise) Availability for the entire 6-month period 6. FDA now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.). Consultants may constitute joint-ventures to enhance their chances of qualification. Eligibility criteria, establishment of the short-list, and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Banks Procurement Policy for Bank Funded Operations, dated October 2015 which can be accessed at the AfDB website (www.afdb.org).
