This Project Is A New Two-Storey 1,683 Sqm Addition And A 150 Sqm Renovation To The Quw’Utsun Smuneem Elementary School, Located On Cowichan Ir #1 At 3121 Glenora Road, Duncan, Bc.The Addition Is Of Wood Framed Construction. There Are 10 New Classrooms, A Double-Height Gymnasium With A Heavy-Timber Roof Structure. Mechanical, Electrical And Plumbing Systems Will Be Newly Installed And Intergrated With The Existing Building Systems. The Renovation To The Existing Multipurpose Room Converts The Space To A Kitchen With Associated Support Rooms. Site Work Encompasses Grading, Landscaping, Outdoor Learning And Play Areas, A Potential Outdoor Kitchen Canopy, And All Associated Site Servicing And Utility Connections.The Scope Further Includes Upgrades To The School’S Electrical Service Capacity To Accommodate The Expanded Facility.The School Will Remain Fully Operational Throughout Construction, Requiring Careful Coordination, Sequencing, And Phased Implementation Of The Work.Cowichan Tribes Anticipates Entering A Ccdc 2 Contract With A General Contractor By March 2026 With Work On Site Starting As Soon As Possible.Attached Documents Include:Project Narrative Full Set Of Ift Drawings And Specificationssite Access And Phasing Criteria Supporting Design Reportsexisting Building Documentation For Project Queries Please Reach Out To Ola Atola@Mg-Architecture.Casite Meeting On February 3Rd At 3:30Pm To Review Site Conditions.
