Township Road 244 Upgrades (Preliminary Design) . The Town Of Strathmore Is Looking To Upgrade Township Road 244 From Highway 817/Wheatland Trail In The East To Range Road 253/Wildflower Road In The West. The Ultimate Plan Is To Update The Current Rural Paved Cross Section To An Arterial Cross Section (36M Row) However An Interim Solution Is Likely Appropriate To Accommodate Current Traffic Volumes And Short To Medium Term Growth Projections. Work Will Include A Topographical Survey Of The Current Condition And Preliminary Design Of The Twp 244 Roadway Along With Adjacent Intersections. A Proposed Interim Solution Is To Be Provided Along With A Class 3 (+20% / -15%) Estimate To Support Future Budgeting And Grant Applications. The Current Roadway Is Deteriorating And Has The Potential To Be Weight Restricted Until Future Upgrades Occur. Additionally, The Intersection With Highway 817 Has Been Identified By Alberta Transportation & Economic Corridors As An Intersection Of Importance As Growth And Traffic Volumes Increase.
