The Purpose Of This Assignment Is To Implement Conservation Management Of The Heathland Landscape Through Sheep Grazing On The Military Domain: Het Klein Schietveld. This Area Has Varied Heath Landscapes With Open Sand, Dry And Wet Heath, Fens And Forests. These Are Ecologically Very Valuable Habitats That Are Often European Protected With Special Fauna And Flora. The Purpose Of Grazing Is To Maintain The Heathland Landscape: - Grazing Of, Among Other Things, Cotton Straw (Molinia Caerulea) To Prevent And Reduce Grass Growth; - Grazing Of Scrub Heather (Calluna Vulgaris) For The Preservation And/Or Development Of Structured Heathland. - Grazing Of Shrubs And Trees To Prevent Forestation (This Mainly Concerns Birch And Pine); The Assignment Has A Term Of 1 Year With The Option To Extend It A Maximum Of 4 Times With 1 Year.
