The Geographic Information System (Gis) Is The Central System For Managing Spatial Data At Swissgrid And Is An Indispensable Resource For Managing Assets In The Management Area. With The Help Of The Gis, Swissgrid Assets Are Displayed In 2D And 3D And Made Available To Users Via A User-Friendly Web Interface (Webgis). The Current Gis Solution Is Based On The Technology Of The Provider Esri And Is Supplemented By The Weboffice And Geonis Components From Vertigis. These Components Were Introduced In 2019 As Part Of A Gatt/Wto Tender. The Vertigis Products Have Since Been Discontinued And Will Only Receive Support In The Form Of Essential Bug Fixes And Security Patches Until February 2028. Further Developments Have No Longer Been Offered Since The Beginning Of 2024. This Situation Prevents Necessary Upgrades Of The Esri Components Used At Swissgrid, Which Significantly Limits Or Even Hinders The Implementation Of Important Digitalization Projects In The Strategic Program “Asset Management 4.0”. Due To The Technological Superiority Of The Esri Platform, As Well As Its Integration Options With Existing Swissgrid Systems Such As Sap, Fnt-Command, Salesforce And Pls-Cadd, Continuing This Solution Makes Strategic Sense. Therefore, Esri Licenses And The Associated Maintenance Were Purchased Directly. The Aim Is To Replace The Currently Managed Vertigis Components By Building With New Basic Components From Esri, Optimizations In The Data Model As Well As Future Further Development And Ensuring 3Rd Level Support In Cooperation With A Service Provider Who Is To Provide The Advertised Services From August 1, 2026 To July 31, 2031.
