Research And Development Services And Related Consultancy Services – Investigation Of Accidents At The Beginning Of Workplaces And Ways To Reduce The Severity Of Accidents In The Event Of An Impact By Using Tma. Accidents At Short-Term Workplaces (Akd) On Motorways Represent A Significant Safety Risk - Especially For The Personnel Deployed And Road Users. Collisions Involving Heavy Commercial Vehicles Hitting Mobile Barrier Boards Are Particularly Critical As Conventional Safety Measures Are Often Not Sufficient. In Other Countries, So-Called Truck Mounted Attenuators (Tma) Are Used, Which Reduce The Impact Energy In Collisions And Thus Reduce The Consequences Of The Accident For Vehicle Occupants. However, In Germany There Are No Clear Application Criteria For Tmas, Especially With Regard To The Frequent Collisions With Trucks. The Existing Test Procedures According To Din Cen/Ts 16786 Primarily Take Cars And Their Occupant Protection Into Account, But Not The Specific Requirements Of German Akd Scenarios. The Aim Of The Research Project Is To Evaluate The Performance And Safety Reserves Of Tmas In The Event Of A Collision With Heavy Commercial Vehicles. The Knowledge Gained Should Contribute To Developing Well-Founded Application Criteria For Tmas And, If Necessary, Identifying Additional Protective Measures. The Benefit Lies In Improved Safety For The Personnel Deployed And For Those Involved In The Accident. The Results Are Intended To Be Incorporated Into The Further Development Of The Guidelines For The Traffic Safety Of Workplaces On Roads (Rsa 21) And Thus Sustainably Increase Traffic Safety At Temporary Workplaces.
