The Planned New Building Of The Allmend Primary School Aims To Create A Future-Proof, Sustainable And Educationally Functional Infrastructure For Primary Levels 1 To 6. The Four-Story Building Will Be Built Using Conventional Timber Construction On The School Grounds And Will Replace The Existing Outdoor Sports Facility (“Red Square”). The Geological And Hydrogeological Conditions In The Area Are Considered Demanding. In Particular, Two Groundwater Levels That Must Be Separated From Each Other Must Be Taken Into Account. The Subsoil Requires A Pile Foundation (Concrete Displacement Bored Piles), Also For Service Lines And Inspection Shafts (Wooden Piles). With Regard To Flood Protection, The New Building Meets The Requirements Of Hq300. The Building Services Are Placed On The Ground Floor And Top Floor (No Basement) In Order To Avoid Damage Caused By Flood Events. The Buildings Supporting Structure Is Based On A Solid Wood Skeleton Made Of Fi/Ta. This Is Complemented By Three Solid Service Cores Made Of Reinforced Concrete. The Spiral Staircases Between The Service Cores Are Also Made Of Reinforced Concrete. The Facade Consists Of Prefabricated Wooden Post External Elements. The Building Will Be Certified According To Snbs 2.1 Building Construction (The Goal Is Gold Certification). The Energy Is Supplied Via A Connection To The Local Seeenergy District Heating Network (Winter Heat, Summer Cooling Water). All Areas Are Covered With Underfloor Heating. All Floor Coverings Are Made Of Polished Industrial Concrete And Serve As Storage Mass And Light Free Cooling Against Summer Overheating Hours. The Control Takes Place Via Room Temperature Sensors And Depends On The User. To Generate Electricity, A Building-Integrated Photovoltaic System Is Installed On The Roof As A Water-Conducting Building Envelope. Brise-Soleil Construction Made Of Metal Along The East And West Facades Serve As Shadows And Provide Structural Weather Protection For The Facade. In The Area Of Building Technology, The Installation Of A Mechanical Ventilation System Is Only Planned In The Areas Of The Internal Cores And The Auditorium. The Classrooms Receive Fresh Air Via Manual Natural Window Ventilation. The Building Can Be Used Completely Without Obstacles. The Planned School Building With A Total Height Of Approx. 19 M In Hybrid Construction Is Considered A Medium-Height Building. The Fire Protection Planning Is Carried Out In Accordance With Quality Level Qss 2 Of The Vkf Bs Guideline. The Surrounding Design Is Based On The Design Concept “Center 1St + 2Nd Stage” And Contributes To The Development Of A Uniform Public Open Space In The Horw Center. The School Building Break Area Will Be Designed As A Traffic-Free, Publicly Accessible Space, With Consideration For Non-School Shared Use. The School Garden Is Exclusively For School Use And Is Designed To Be Child-Friendly And Close To Nature. In The Spirit Of Climate Adaptation And Biodiversity Promotion.
