Supporting Walls – Construction Services Kib *3230*Ern. Retaining Wall Saarburg Ii Km 62,085 Ldb. The “Sw Saarburg Ii” Project Envisages The Renewal Of The Retaining Wall From Km 62.085 To Km 63.012 On The Vzg Route 3230 From Saarbrücken To Karthaus. The Structural Inspection Shows The Building, Which Was Built In 1860, To Have Some Massive Damage Such As Cracks, Exposed Reinforcement And Breakouts Spread Over The Entire Length. Furthermore, The Fall Protection Is Completely Corroded Along The Entire Length Of The Structure Up To 50 M At The Beginning Of The Structure, Is No Longer Present In Places, Has Rusted Through Or Has Fallen Over. The Railings Have Broken Off In Several Places. In Places There Is Growth On The Soil Beneath The Supporting Wall Of The Structure That Needs To Be Removed. In Addition, From An Operational Perspective, There Is An Increased Traffic Safety Risk Due To The Insufficient Safety Space Between The Left Track And The Railing On The Retaining Wall. The Structure Is Now Classified As Condition Category 4 Due To The Serious Damage. Since, According To The Experts Assessment, An Economical Renovation Or Repair Of The Structure Is No Longer Possible And An Impending Route Closure Must Be Avoided At All Costs, The Retaining Wall In The Area Of Km 62.085 - Km 63.012 Should Be Replaced As Soon As Possible. From The Vp/Ep, The New Retaining Wall Is Intended As A Support Pile Wall. The Chosen Variant Provides For A Support Structure At The Foot Of The Existing Embankment Paving, Consisting Of A Deep-Founded Support Pile Wall With A Gabion Wall In Front, Which Serves As A Compensation Measure For The Sealing Of The Embankment Paving. The Escape Route Runs To The Left Of The Railway Line, While The Embankment Extension Is Constructed Up To The Supporting Pile Wall With An Inclination Of 1:3 To Ensure The Stability Of The Embankment Extension. By Flattening The Embankment And Increasing The Support Height, Slipping Of The Embankment On The Sliding Plane Or The Embankment Pavement Is Counteracted. A Railing With Individual Foundations Will Be Erected Along The Edge Of The Embankment, Directly Next To The Escape Route. The Supporting Pile Wall Runs Along The Base Of The Embankment And Is Made Of Double U-Profiles With Prefabricated Reinforced Concrete Parts As Infill. Depending On The Required Interception Height, Tiebacks Are Provided. The Gabion Wall Is Arranged Directly In Front Of The Support Pile Wall, With Appropriate Recesses Being Provided In The Areas Of The Supports And Tiebacks To Ensure Accessibility To The Anchor Heads At All Times. The Gabion Wall Is Founded On A 30 Cm Thick, Frost-Proof Reinforced Concrete Foundation. The New Retaining Wall Runs At The Foot Of The Railway Line Directly Next To Federal Highway 51. As Part Of The Measure, The Overhead Line Masts In The Construction Area Will Also Be Replaced.
