Transport Services (Excl. Waste Transport) – Concession For The Operation Of The Monthey Combined Rail-Road Terminal. The Municipality Of Monthey And The Monthey Chemical Site Are Collaborating For The Development Of A Combined Rail-Road Terminal Through The Company Tcm Sa. This Terminal Will Be Located In Close Proximity To One Of Switzerlands Largest Chemical Sites. The Monthey Rail-Road Terminal Is Part Of The Territorial Planning Of Switzerland And The Cantons Of Vaud And Valais. As Such, It Will Be An Integral Part Of The Future Network Of Regional Rail-Road Terminals In Switzerland. The Chablais Region (Cantons Of Valais And Vaud) Is A Highly Dynamic Industrial Area In Western Switzerland, Crossed By The Simplon Line Of The Swiss Federal Railways (Sbb/Cff/Ffs) And By The A9 Motorway. The Bex Motorway Exit Ist Located Less Than 2 Km From The Future Infrastructure. These Transport Links Provide Rapid Access To Northern Italy And To The Rest Of Switzerland. The Construction Of The Monthey Combined Rail-Road Terminal Is Subsidised By The Swiss Confederation. For This Reason, Non-Discriminatory Access To The Terminal Must Be Guaranteed To All Customers. Tcm Sa Is Responsible For Building The Terminal And Granting A Concession For Its Operation. Preliminary Work On The Construction Of The Terminal Has Begun. The Main Elements Of The Monthey Combined Rail-Road Terminal Include: • A Storage Area Of Approximately 8,000 M², Allowing For The Storage Of 768 Teu Containers Across 3 Levels, Including A Separate Area For 288 Containers Of Hazardous Materials, And Two Storage Lanes For Mobile Boxes Or Trailers, Each 250 Meters Long. The Hazardous Materials Area Will Be Compartmentalized With Water Curtain Systems. • Two Railway Tracks Accommodating Trains Of Up To 300 Meters In Length. • Road Access From The A9 Motorway And Internal Roads For Servicing The Installations. • A Gantry Crane With A Width Of 60 Meters. • An Administrative Building Adaptable To The Operator’S Needs. • An Infrared Camera Surveillance System. • A Fire Detection System. • A Water Evacuation And Retention System In Case Of An Incident. The Main Services Covered By This Tender Include: • Operation Of The Terminal. • Safety And Security Services For The Terminal. • Maintenance And Upkeep Of The Terminal And Its Equipment. • Other Services Necessary For The Operation Of The Terminal. These Services Will Be Described In Detail In The Tender Documents.
