Project Description
Provision of a sovereign guaranteed loan of up to EUR 35 million to the Office National de lAssainissement ("ONAS"), the national sanitation utility and an existing Client of the Bank. The proceeds of the EBRD loan will be used by ONAS to finance the construction of a wastewater and treated water transmission network in Greater Tunis to relieve systemic pressure in the wastewater network and link the new El Hessiane WWTP to the network.
El Hessiane WWTP is planned to be built under a 22-year PPP scheme and is expected to be the first full-scale PPP in Tunisias water & wastewater sector.
Project Objectives
The investment will help to relieve systemic pressure on the wastewater network in Greater Tunis and is in line with the Banks overall commitment to the sustainable development of the water & wastewater sector in Tunisia, including through the Banks previous engagements with ONAS. |
