Strategic Marine has delivered a StratCat 27 Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) to Orlen, which will be used to support operations in Poland’s offshore wind sector.
The vessel, specifically designed for offshore wind farm operations, is scheduled to begin operations in the North Sea before transitioning to the Polish exclusive economic zone in the Baltic Sea.
The CTV, named Baltic Eagle, is said to meet Tier III emission requirements and is hybrid-ready, allowing for future adaptation to alternative energy sources.
“We are delighted to have successfully delivered the StratCat 27 to ORLEN. The StratCat 27 is built with future in mind, offering hybrid readiness, emission compliance, and the ability to operate in harsh sea conditions. We are proud of our collaboration and look forward to supporting their continued success in the offshore wind market”, said Chan Eng Yew, Chief Executive Officer of Strategic Marine.
Lotos Petrobaltic, an Orlen Group company, signed a contract with the Singaporean company for the construction of the CTV in March this year.
Orlen, together with its Canadian partner Northland Power, is developing the 1.2 GW Baltic Power offshore wind farm in Poland.
Scheduled to commence operations in late 2026, Baltic Power is expected to deliver renewable energy to over 1.5 million Polish households. |
