Servotech Power Systems Limited (SPSL) has announced its successful acquisition of a 2-megawatt (MW) on-grid solar power project from the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA). The initiative aligns with India’s growing focus on green energy solutions.
As per the agreement, Servotech will manage the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar power systems across 67 strategic locations in Uttar Pradesh. Additionally, the company will oversee warranty maintenance of the installations for five years.
Sarika Bhatia, Director of Servotech, expressed optimism about the project, stating, “Leveraging our expertise and innovative solutions, our aim is to empower Uttar Pradesh with clean, reliable, and cost-effective solar energy.”
Advancing Solar Power with Aluminium
The solar energy sector continues to benefit from advancements in materials like aluminium, which enhances the efficiency and functionality of solar panels. Known for its lightweight, durability, conductivity, and corrosion resistance, aluminium is increasingly favored for renewable energy applications.
The extrusion process, where aluminium alloys are shaped under high pressure, yields materials such as 6063, 6061, and 6005 alloys, which are highly suitable for solar panel manufacturing. These innovations contribute to solar power’s position as the third-largest source of renewable electricity globally, following hydropower and wind, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).
China dominates the global solar panel production landscape, accounting for 86% of the annual output. In contrast, Europe and North America contribute approximately 2% each, as per the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems in Germany. Six of the top seven solar panel manufacturers globally are based in China, further emphasizing the country’s pivotal role in this industry.
Supporting India’s Clean Energy Goals
Servotech Power Systems’ recent project underscores its commitment to advancing renewable energy solutions in India, contributing to the nation’s green energy transition and its objectives of achieving sustainable development. |
