The State Cabinet on 24 July, 2023 granted approval for a new township project in New Town in West Bengal to Forum Township Project, which will also include special reservation for economically weaker sections (EWS).
This new township will come up on 58 acres of land at Jagadishpur mauja of Rajarhat, and will offer advanced amenities to the dwellers.
On the same day, the standing committee on commerce and industries gave the nod to handing over a 28.1 acre plot to JSR Grain Energy, on a 99-year lease for setting up a grain-based distillery unit. The committee also sanctioned a vast land plot for setting up an ethanol plant at Gazole in Malda, in line with the governments special ethanol policy for promoting ethanol production. Another ethanol plant is already coming up at West Bengal Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBIDC) in Malda.
The committee has also allocated another 19-acre plot at New Champta in north Bengal to Mayfair hotel group for setting up a tea resort which will boost tea tourism.
Under the new initiative called Shilper Sandhane entrepreneurs and traders operating in the MSME sector will receive guidance on accessing loans up to Rs 5 lakh through the Bhabishyat Credit Card without the need for a guarantor. The program will run from 1 to 18 August, 2023 across all blocks in the state and boroughs in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC). |
