Work Detail | The City of Marianna has begun work on an estimated $1.9 million long-term project to consolidate its water system into one unit. The city now has two systems running off of separate wells, but the project will allow it to shut down two older wells that currently serve between 200 and 300 residences, as well as Sunland and the Federal Correctional Institution. Workers are now laying pipes that will connect the residences and businesses using the old system to the system that serves the central part of town. Currently work is being done on Caverns Road, but a second line will be laid along Highway 71 North. The project is expected to take 290 to 300 days. |
