The Fleet Maintenance Section Currently Have Seven (7) Vacant Positions, Causing A Backlog Of Maintenance Work Impacting All Council Branches. Attempts At Outsourcing Of Work Has Highlighted That Original Equipment Manufacturers And Their Agents Have The Same Resourcing Issues As Council And Wait Times Are 6-8 Weeks. To Overcome The Resourcing Issue And Provide Additional Labour In Peak Times, Contract Labour Has Been Investigated And Is The Best Option In The Current Circumstances. Contract Labour Will Improve Productivity Leading To Improved Customer Satisfaction. While Contract Labour Is At A Higher Hourly Rate, The Contract Labour Will Only Be Utilised As Required When Scheduled Demand Is Higher Than Trc Employee Available Work Hours.
